Our scout was happy to receive “get well dude” tidings from his fellow Troop 108 members when the adult leaders visited to conduct a rare out-of-council and across-state-line Board of Review for First Class…which he passed with flying colors.
One of our own members is in need of positive thoughts and prayers as he battles to get back to good health following complications from a planned surgical procedure over the Christmas break.
Read more about his story and contribute if you wish by clicking here.
Once he is back home we’ll try to organize our scouting family to assist with some meals for the family.
Event: 10 mile hike , be prepared with proper foot wear, socks, day pack with water bottle, trail snacks, personal first aid kit, sun screen and hat. The event will start cold and will likely remain chilly all day, dress or pack accordingly.
Where: Dropoff @ Unity Presbyterian Church at 8:30am
Pick up @ Springs Complex at 4:00pm
Cost: $3.00 Greenway fee. <– Bring with you to pay at the ASC Greenway
Scouts planning to attend are asked to register using the link below:

Merry Christmas to all of Troop 108’s scouts, parents, adult leaders and supporters who together make our program a success for our scouts year after year.
The 2016 York District Polar Bear will be an interesting one with the Zombie themed patch, shirt and activities. The event will be held the weekend of January 15-17, 2016 @ Camp Conley Clark (1192 Hickory Grove Road, Gaffney, SC) and is sure to be a fun time.
The troop will gather at Unity Presbyterian Church at 5pm on January 15th to load the trailer and leave for the event shortly afterward. Scouts should have eaten supper prior to arrival as we will not be stopping on the way to the camporee. We will plan to return to Fort Mill around noon on January 17th. Scouts will call when we are on the way home.
This is a cold weather camping event, so plan and pack accordingly.
Scouts can pre-order event shirts which are black, long-sleeved shirts with white glow-in-the-dark ink (with a “Zombie Campout Response Team” logo on the back and a creepy hand giving the scout sign on the front) for $12 each and can be ordered from now until December 24th by Clicking Here.
Registration for the event itself is $30 (including event fee, transportation, and food during the event) and can be completed by Clicking Here no later than January 4th so planning for adequate food and menus can occur.

We will have our Court of Honor this coming Monday, December 14th, in Unity Presbyterian’s Historic Sanctuary.
Our parent meeting and “Q&A” will start at6:30pm, followed by the Court of Honor at 7pm.
If everyone could bring a finger food of some type for the reception that follows, that would be great. Leaders are providing drinks.
Thank you all again and see you next Monday.
The December 7th troop meeting is a regular meeting night, not a PLC night, as indicated in a post about upcoming PLC nights from a couple of months back.
We look Forward to seeing each of you at the meeting where Mr. Whitesell will make a presentation and the troop will elect it’s new ASPL.
Each year Troop 108 scouts travel to Gibbs Stadium at Wofford College in Spartanburg to help by selling programs and concessions at the annual Shrine Bowl game. This year will we will do it all again. As an added plus, we always stop at the Peach Blossum for a hearty roadside breakfast on the way down and top off the day with a gastrointestinal experience at the Beacon Restaurant in Spartanburg before returning home.
We will plan on leaving Unity Presbyterian Church at 7am and returning about 7pm on Saturday, December 19th, 2015. Be sure to dress warmly and bring money for breakfast, snacks (lunch is provided by the Shriners) and then supper on the way home.
Dress if full official Boy Scout uniform with a troop scouting t-shirt underneath. Scouts will be able to earn service hours to apply toward rank where applicable.
