We are very excited to announce that we will be having a patrol-based campout at Bagwell Farms located in McConnells, SC on Friday, February the 17th through Sunday the 19th. The cost is $15. We will be leaving the church by 5:00 and return by 1:00 on Sunday. It has been many years since we have been there and looking forward to finally go back.
This has always been a great campout and everyone has a fantastic time (ask the older scouts, they will tell you). Also if anyone needs some rank requirements items signed off, this outing presents an excellent opportunity to take care of that. Last day of sign up will be Monday, February 13th. Hope to see you all there.

Troop 108 will join scouting units from all over America as we gather to worship on February 5th, 2017. Scout Sunday is always the first Sunday in February and members of Troop 108 gather to worship with our sponsoring organization, Unity Presbyterian Church during their early service.
Scouts should gather between 8:15am and 8:30am in the church sanctuary in the reserved seating set aside for us. We look forward to seeing each of you at church on Scout Sunday.

Troop 108 is looking forward to welcoming our new brothers in scouting on March 6th at 6:30pm at Unity Presbyterian Church. These Webelos scouts have worked hard to achieve the requirements necessary to move to Boy Scouting and we are glad that they have elected to join us in Troop 108.

As part of the evening’s festivities, and as their last Webelos achievement, theses scouts will receive their Arrow of Light award just before crossing over to Troop 108. We’ve included a file of the evening’s bulletin below in Word format.
Arrow of Light and Cross-over Ceremony Bulletin
We hope to see each of you at our Arrow of Light / Crossing Over ceremony on March 6th.

Just a reminder that any scout planning to attend summer camp with the troop at Camp Rainey Mountain the week of July 4th needs to have paid at least $100 by January 27th, 2017.
Adults will be on hand at the January 23rd PLC meeting to accept payments in person, or you may make a payment by using the “Make a Summer Camp Payment In Any Amount” widget in the right hand column of the website.
More information can be found in an earlier post by clicking here

Just a reminder that we don’t typically have a Monday night scout meeting on nights when the scouts don’t have school (Fort Mill School District).
We call this the No School / No Scouts rule.
As a result, our January 23rd meeting will be only for the Patrol Leader’s Council to meet and plan out the upcoming month’s meetings.
The holidays are a busy time and we want to make sure that our scouts don’t let the deadline for signing up for the Polar Bear Campout pass them by. Click here to go to get registered today!

We are looking forward to an exciting time at Camp Rainey Mountain near Clayton Georgia in early July 2017. Each scout must have a minimum payment of $100 made to the troop no later than January 27th, 2017 so we can make the deadline for getting the scouts signed up by Camp’s 1st minimum payment date (CRM will add a late fee for any scouts not paid on time). You can have your scout bring a check to an upcoming scout meeting or you can make a payment of any amount using the “Make a 2017 Summer Camp Payment” option in the right column of this webpage. Note that the troop will not be fronting payment for scouts as we have paid for scouts in the past who decided not to attend. Families needing financial assistance should speak with the Scoutmaster or Troop Committee Chairman.
Have your scout take a look at the the 2017 Camp Rainey Mountain Merit Badge Listing and start thinking about which badges that they would like to work on at camp. First year scouts will automatically be registered for the camp’s “The New Trail” (TNT) program to help expedite their journey through the first four ranks in scouting.
You can also view the two-part leader’s guide for more information about camp by clicking here and here.
We are looking forward to our troop’s visit to CRM in July.

Wishing all of our Troop 108 scouting family members a Happy New Year!
See you at our next meeting on January 9th, 2017. Don’t forget to get signed up for the Polar Bear camporee below.

Wishing all of our scouts, leaders and volunteers and their families a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
